EUREKA Mignon Silenzio

The Eureka Mignon Silenzio is an excellent home espresso grinder. It is fitted with 50mm flat stainless steel burrs and stepless adjustments to give you precise control over your grind. It also has a superb build and integrated noise insulation making it one of the quietest grinders on the market. This is an excellent coffee grinder at this price point.

DESIGN
With classic Italian styling, the Silenzio has a unique design, with a square body and hopper. The grinder is compact and easily fit on your kitchen counter.

BURRS AND SPEED
The burrs are made of hardened steel which makes them durable and resistant to chipping. Steel burrs are also razor-sharp, delivering uniform grinds.
The 50mm flat burrs are a moderate size for a grinder which gives you slow to medium grind-time (1 – 2.3 grams per second depending on grind setting)

GRIND CONSISTENCY AND ADJUSTMENT
The Silenzio produces a consistent grind size. The grinds fall out of the chute light and fluffy, with little clumping and this is due to the ACE (anti-clumping and electrostatic) system employed, which splits up any clumps as the coffee moves down the shoot. The coffee grinds fall evenly out of the chute directly into a portafilter. A huge plus from Eureka and no need to include a grind catcher underneath. 

DOSING
The Silenzio has dosing options from manual to time-based. It has an analogue timer knob on the side that can be set anywhere from 2.5 to 20 seconds and it also comes with removable portafilter forks so you can grind directly into your portafilter or container. This little grinder has low grind retention due to the direct grind path from the coffee chute, making it perfect for a single-dose grinder.

MAINTENANCE
Due to its ACE system, the Silenzio makes very little mess during use. Maintenance is also straightforward with it a unique system: a bottom burr adjust (rather than top). This means that you don’t lose your grind setting when you open the burrs up to give them a clean.
